Three River's Festival

The Three River's Festival is Fort Wayne's big summer festival. It lasts for 8 days and provides a prime opportunity for people-watching and fried-food gluttony, and of course, midway rides and games. It's kind of like a county fair without the livestock. Our favorite part of the festival is definitely the 'Chalk Walk'. Anybody can sign up, first-come, first serve, for a 4' X 4' or 8' X 8' square which they can chalk (pastel) however they please.
I was actually signed up for one this year, but had to bow at at the last minute to attend a funeral. I've posted some of our favorites...

They Might Be Giants - Bastard Wants to Hit Me

They Might Be Giants have been a favorite of mine since WAY back. They may invoke nostalgia mostly for me but they still keep writing and recording an insane amount of short, weird, quirky tunes. Their children's album 'No!' is a family favorite, along with 'Here Come the ABC's'. Both rarities in that they are kids albums that are just as entertaining for the parents. Go here to hear some songs and see their associated interactive animations (which are included on the CD if you buy it). They released a record in July of this year called 'The Else' which I have not yet heard.

The video for 'Bastard Wants To Hit Me' kills me. It was created by animator Aaron Sorenson who mostly does animation for television commercials.
